Brandon and Jessa E-Session

Last summer we had the opportunity to photograph Brandon and Jessa at Allerton Park in Monticello, Il.  As we have come to know the couple it is hard to mention them without describing their love of their K-9 companions. This is why we felt that it was vital to include Storm and Savanna in the e-session. We had a great time as we hit the trails and later transitioned  to the rolling hills. Please check back to see photos of Brandon and Jessa’s wedding which will be held this Saturday on the lush green meadows of Allerton Park.

Dana and Jacob -Central Illinois Wedding and Portrait Photographer

Most brides adore their wedding dress more than anything they will ever wear. When Jacob and Dana Taylor exchanged vows in Decatur, Illinois on April, 3oth the entire guest list was in awe of the brides dress. This was because nearly fifty years prior, Dana’s grandmother had worn this exact dress. Despite the five decades the dress had seen, it was immaculate. It would have been difficult to picture the enthusiastic bride in any other dress. Here are a few photos form the special day:

Legend Dance Company- Champaign & Urbana Wedding, Portrait, Event Photographer

The University of Illinois’ Legend Dance Company held its 16th annual spring show on April 17th.  In celebration of its sixteenth year the performance was titled ”Then & Now: Legend’s Sweet 16″. The dedicated group of young ladies are made up of extraordinary dancers who have embraced dancing throughout their entire lives. It was evident that the performance was well rehearsed in effort to present an honorable tribute to their families and Legend Dancers of the past. This is the second year that Copper Creek has photographed this inspirational event. Here a few previews from todays performance. Thanks Justin and Kim Reed

Matson Family- Copper Creek Images, Champaign, Il Portrait, Wedding Photographer

This past weekend we had the opportunity to shoot three young ladies on the campus of the University of Illinois. The two older girls who are sisters requested that their younger cousin accompany them on the shoot. We thought this was very thoughtful of the girls and we were excited to have her join us. As many of you know it was also Mother’s weekend on campus. Combined with spectacular weather, this annual celebration drew hundreds of individuals and families to the UIUC Quad. As we moved from one location to another we had had the chance reflect on a collection of photos that featured the two older girls when they where much younger. At many times we used these photos as inspiration for photographs. While the girls may have thought this was a little silly their mother sat back and enjoyed the job that she has done raising two great teenage girls. Here are a few images from our Mother’s Weekend photo session! We hope you enjoy!

Lasalle Street Bridge, Chicago, Il- Justin Reed Wedding, Portrait and Landscape Photographer

The Second City is one of my favorite cities to photograph! One can easily get lost in the history that has happened in the city of Chicago. Amongst the skyscrapers and shores of Lake Michigan you will find a series of elaborate and functional bridges. There are nearly 20 bridges in the downtown area and 37 bridges city wide. These bridges are opened nearly 30,000 times per year. Most of the time pedestrians and tourists pass over the bridges without paying much attention to the charm and function. The image above features the Lasalle Street bridge which serves the as the entrance to the Chicago Board of Trade.

Mr. and Mrs. Battle- Champaign, Il Wedding Photographer

The wedding of Taylor and Bridget can be accurately described as an event which was full of energy fed from their love for each-other and their family and friends. Throughout the entire evening the couple were embraced on the dance floor by new faces. As the night progressed the couples guest list seemed to grow by leaps and bounds. Congratulations on growing your family! Justin and Kim

Jacob and Dana-Champaign, Il Wedding Photographer

Last summer when the corn was tall and we were enjoying an uncharacteristically mild summer, we had the opportunity visit the future bride’s family farm near Decatur Il, where Jacob and Dana seemed right at home. During our initial consultation Dana mentioned that her dad owned an historic John Deer tractor that had a lot of sentimental value to the family. On the day of the session Dana’s mother revealed to us a sentimental image which featured her husband and their 1 week old daughter on the same tractor that Dana and Jacob would be using in part of their engagement session. In the end we ended up with numerous great images that showed the intimacy of the family farm and the personality of the future Bride and Groom. More images to come after the April, 30th wedding.

Wedding Albums

If you do a Google Search for wedding photography it doesn’t take too long before you run across the words “Wedding Album”. This is because wedding albums are one the most popular wedding trends. In the past five or six years both brides and grooms, (not to mention mothers) have fallen in love with the elegant feel of these highly personal albums. Albums should be artistically designed and evoke memories of the most important day of your lives.

Our album design process starts well before the wedding day arrives. It starts the first time that we meet our clients. Through a detailed process we are able to uncover the qualities that make each bride and groom unique. We translate these qualities into great engagement and wedding day images that really tell the story of the bride and groom! It is passion to create something new with each new bride and groom.

After vows have been exchanged and the bridal party has presented their toasts we begin designing a unique layout that will represent your story. Designing a layout is one of the most important aspects of the wedding album. Your album layout should accurately reflect the energy and passion of your wedding day. We are able to translate this one of a kind atmosphere into print by individually designing each page from start to finish

Option 1
The sample below has a thick paper stock as well as lay flat binding. This allows for the images to lay flat on a table without worrying if the pages are going to flip. These are really nice for coffee tables and guest books. This option also features an image on the front.

Option 2
These are your basic yet, professionally bound books. Instead of using a large publisher many small authors print and sell these books to book stores. As you will notice the pages are not lay-flat. However, these are great quality. They are nice for parents. The 7×7 option can be designed similarly to your wedding album.

Option 3
The third option is our most popular album. These come in black and brown leather. This option is an upgrade from the first option. It has the same flush mount feature as well as the professional binding. Most brides and grooms see this album as something that they can hand down to their children.

3rd Annual Tri the Illini Triathlon

On the second to last Sunday in September, the 3rd Annual Tri the Illini Triathlon was successfully hosted by the University of Illinois Triathlon Club. A morning that brought rain and cloudy skies gave way some typically mild fall weather in Central Illinois.  Originally the swim portion of the race had been slated to take place in the beautiful outdoor pool of the U of I’s state of the art recreation facility. This year the club added a few extra miles to the bike route and rerouted the course. As athletes mounted their bikes just west of Memorial Stadium they were greeted by abundant crowds of eager spectators and hints of fall colors.

This is the second Tri the Illini that Copper Creek Images has taken part in. At both races we have been warmly greeted by club members, spectators and athletes. We sincerely enjoy photographing this event because of this. After photographing several triathlons, we believe that this is one of the best races in the region. It is hard to beat the feeling of race day on an early fall morning on the campus of The University of Illinois. Check out the some of the photos and I think you will agree. Tri the Illini
